POLICE are still investigating the death of an unidentified man outside of a Trowbridge supermarket.
Police and ambulance crews were called out to The Shires car park in Bythesea Road at 3.10pm on Thursday (February 9) afternoon to reports of a man being seriously injured.
Air ambulance crews from Wiltshire Air Ambulance and South West Ambulance Service as well as three police units were called to the scene.
On arrival a crew from South West Ambulance Service were treating the man who was in cardiac arrest. He died at the scene.
It is believed by Wiltshire Police the injury the man sustained had been caused after falling on glass whilst attempting to shoplift.
Asda has formally stated that none of their security staff or shop staff were involved in the incident and the company are assisting the police with further enquiries.
The man has not been formally identified so the next of kin have not been informed.
A forensic team is at the scene checking over the area.
