RESIDENTS from care homes across Wiltshire descended upon Trowbridge Civic Centre to show off their handicraft talents at an autumn craft show on Tuesday.
More than 100 people from 15 different Orders of St John Care Trust care homes got stuck into a day of floral displays, makes and bakes, handicrafts, painting and pottery exhibits for the annual event.
As well as competing for first and second place rosettes in several categories, volunteers, residents and care home staff were entertained by singer and musician Dave Dawson between midday and 3.30pm.
OSJCT's volunteer and events manager, Karen Johnson, said: "Our annual craft fair is really popular with residents and gives them a chance to be creative, enjoy a chat and have a good day out from the home.
"Everyone had a great time in what was a very enjoyable and successful day. We have been doing for six to seven years and every time we do it, the residents are really grateful. What is nice is that the things they do at home, they can show off to other people.
"I want to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time to help put this on as it was such a fun day out. It just just a shame it was so short."
